Istanbul hosts the Georgian-Ossetian forum

In Istanbul is continuing Georgian-Ossetian Civic Forum. Meetings are held under the auspices of the American Institute of George Mason since 2008, immediately following the war, four times a year.

 

The dialogue that takes place in Istanbul is watching as well by international organizations - the UN observer mission, representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, United Kingdom, there are representatives of the U.S. Embassy and UN.

 

The participants with great interest listened to each other. Today advanced report was presented about the current situation in Georgia by known Georgian expert Giorgi Aptsiauri. And two counter reports on the political status of affairs in the occupied Tskhinvali region was presented by political experts Dina Alborova and Kosta Dzugayev.

 

This format intends more communication and discussion, and the people who are present at the meeting can ask questions to one another and to receive non-formal, informal responses.
